Barnes & Noble this week announced that it has reached a content partnership with Salon.com. As part of the deal, BN.com and the Barnes & Noble Review will share selected articles and content with Salon.com on a daily basis, including "critical appraisals, reviews, essays, and interviews." Salon.com will in turn include affiliate links to BN.com, offering Salon.com readers the opportunity to purchase books, e-books and other content. In addition, Salon.com and the Barnes & Noble Review will create "booklists of current and background reading" to enhance Salon's topic and news pages. James Mustich, editor-in-chief of the Barnes & Noble Review, said the deal was an important one "in an era in which compelling writing about books is fast disappearing in newspapers and magazines."
