Kno, an educational software developer, and Sally Ride Science, an educational venture founded by the pioneering female astronaut, are teaming up to launch Cool Careers in Science, an interactive e-book series developed by the Sally Ride Science venture. The new series is designed to use video, audio and interactive technology to encourage kids to explore careers in science.

The Cool Careers in Science series will feature 12 titles, among them Cool Careers in Engineering, Cool Careers in Biotechnology and Cool Careers in Environmental Sciences among others.

Sheryle Bolton, CEO of Sally Ride Science, said. “Sally Ride Science is at the forefront of the movement to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education and all of the related career opportunities in those fields. One way to do that is to provide students with engaging learning tools that ignite their curiosity in the sciences. Working with Kno gives Sally Ride Science the ability to fulfill our mission in new and exciting ways, while opening up a larger world of possibilities to students across the country.”

Kno will be giving live demonstrations of the Cool Careers in Science interactive e-books at the National Science Teachers Association conference in San Antonio April 11-14.
