Diversion Books is partnering with The Gersh Agency on a new imprint which will publish titles by the agency's clients. The new branded line will release its first list this summer, and is going to do fiction and nonfiction, as well as backlist titles and originals, in both e-book and POD.

Diversion has already worked with the Gersh Agency on a handful of titles, including Lucy Alibar's play Juicy and Delicious, which served as the basis for the film Beasts of the Southern Wild, and which Diversion published in POD and e-book. That effort, said Diversion book editor Mary Cummings, is something she hopes will lead to "further successes, with a dedicated branding effort, a quick turnaround time for publication, and marketing strategies suited for Gersh clients." And Joseph Veltre, the head of Gersh's books department, said the partnership allows for each of these titles to "have a unique marketing, promotion, design and distribution plan to help authors connect with readers."
