Mumbai-based Hurix, a leading digital solutions company, is now an alliance member of IMS Global Learning Consortium (GLC), a nonprofit organization that is focused on developing open interoperability standards in learning technology. Through this membership, Hurix is now a part of a forum that is involved in redefining the world’s technology standards in learning and actively contributing towards educational innovation. “We are pleased that Hurix has joined the Common Cartridge/Learning Tools Alliance and look forward to their participation,” says CEO Rob Abel of IMS GLC.
As it is, Dictera—Hurix’s trademarked product; www.dictera.com—already offers a revolutionary approach to interactive HTML5 content development through its cloud-based collaboration and authoring platform. “Dictera is designed to make the job easier for the author, editor, media producer and project manager. Common Cartridge is an open standard through which IMS members offer digital educational content, learning management systems and learning software tools. Among IMS GLC’s contributing members are Pearson, Elsevier, John Wiley, McGraw-Hill Education, University of Cambridge, Harvard Business Publishing, California State University System, American Public University, New York City Department of Education, CourseSmart, Blackboard, K12.com, VitalSource, Apple, IBM and Oracle.
