After the author's appearance on FoxNews went viral last week, Reza Aslan's Zealot hit the iBooks bestseller list at #2 for the week ending August 5. The book, an exploration of the life of Jesus Christ, is second only to J.K. Rowling's pseudonymous novel, The Cuckoo's Calling, which hasn't lost steam since news broke weeks ago about the mystery's true authorship. Zealot pushes mainstay Inferno to the #3 spot.

Screen adaptations moved the needle last week. Piper Kerman's Orange is the New Black rose three spots to #7 as the Netflix TV series based on the memoir enjoys healthy media attention. Sitting at #4 is City of Bones by Cassandra Clare, originally published in 2007 and adapted into a movie set for release on August 21.

New to the list this week are The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty, and Falling for the Good Guy by Violet Duke, the only self-published title on the chart.
