Open Road Integrated Media has inked a deal with Peachtree Publishers to release digital editions of a collection of the house's titles. Through the agreement, Open Road will release and market 18 titles in the Peachtree-published children's series, Fred Bowen Sports Story.
Peachtree is a children's publisher and Fred Bowen is, Open Road said, one of its most popular properties. The fiction series, which is aimed at kids seven to 12, feature stories centered on a variety of sports from baseball to football to soccer. Within each fictional story, factual details are interwoven; each book concludes with a section called "The Real Story," which relates the history that inspired the book.
Fred Bowen, the author of the series, is a former youth sports coach who wrote a sports column for called "The Score" in the KidsPost section of The Washington Post.
