The Cuckoo's Calling was, once again, in the top slot on Apple's iBooks paid bestseller list, for the week ending August 26. Cassandra Clare's City of Bones, whose film adaptation opened in theaters on August 21, rose three spots from #5 last week to the runner-up this week. The second installment in Clare's Mortal Instrument series, City of Ashes, hit the list at #6. Also bolstered by news around a screen adaptation, John Green's The Fault in Our Stars, originally published in January 2012 and is slated for a film release in 2014, came in at #8.

Biology, by Kenneth R. Miller and Joseph S. Levine, made the list once again this week, falling two spots from #7 to #9. The presence of both Biology and World History, which landed at #10, points toward the trend of students buying coursework textbooks in digital formats.
