The New York City – Southern New York Chapter of the National MS Society has announced the finalists for the 17th Annual Books for a Better Life Awards. The winners will be announced on Monday, March 11, 2013 during the awards ceremony at The Times Center in Manhattan. The event, hosted by television personality Meredith Vieira, will honor George Slowik, Jr., president of PW and bestselling author Gail Sheehy.

Since their inception in 1996, the Books for a Better Life Awards have recognized more than 650 self-improvement authors, raising nearly $2 million for the New York City – Southern New York Chapter’s support services and educational programs for people living with MS, their families and friends as well as the Society critical research initiatives. The awards recognize self-improvement authors whose messages are aligned with the chapter’s mission of inspiring people to live their best lives.
