The nine-year-old Story Prize, which honors short story collections, has named its three finalists for 2012: Dan Chaon (for Stay Awake); Junot Diaz (for This Is How You Lose Her); and Claire Vaye Watkins (for Battleborn). The winner, who will receive $20,000, will be announced in an event on March 13 in New York City; the two runners-up will each receive $5,000.

And, for the first time, the Story Prize has added a new honor, called the Story Prize Spotlight Award. Kris Lee, author of Drifting House, has won this award, and will receive a $1,000 prize.
