The exhibits have just come down, and BookExpo America is already looking to 2013 when Mexico will be the focus of attention and Guest of Honor at its Global Market Forum. Past focus countries include the Arab World, Spain, and Italy, as well as Russia, which was celebrated this year. “Mexico is known for its cultural vibrancy and richness, and its world class literature, including writers like Octavio Paz, Carlos Fuentes, and Rosario Castellanos,” noted show manager Steve Rosato. “We are pleased to have a hand in strengthening the bonds that exist between Mexico and the Latino communities in the U.S. and to pay tribute to the great Mexican writers and the new breed of authors writing today.”

The partnership with Mexico will feature professional programs as well as literary and related cultural programs at BEA and other cultural institutions in New York City. BEA will be held from June 3-6, 2013 at the Javits Center in New York City.
