As one of the leading publishers of alternative health titles, including raw foods spirituality, and martial arts, North Atlantic Press has created a lineup of events and giveaways that complement its commitment to healthful lifestyles and respect for the natural world.

Booksellers are invited to stop by the North Atlantic Books booth (2749) for sneak peeks at its leading 2013 titles, including raw foodist Sergei Bouotenko’s Wild Edibles and the launch of the press’s new Sacred Activism series with Occupy Spirituality by Adam Bucko and Matthew Fox. Invitations to meet Bucko and Fox at NAB’s webinar launch on June 25 to be hosted on the press’s web journal and social network, NABCommunities.com, will be available at the booth. Today, visitors will be entered to win a Nutribullet nutrition extractor blender when they play the Two Truths and a Lie game that introduces Boutenko’s Wild Edibles. Do you know, for instance, how many miles on average produce has to travel to reach a consumer?

BEA visitors may stop by the booth anytime to take the Heart in Action pledge in support of NAB’s belief in the efficacy of social activism. “We will suggest ways that people can help make sacred activism real in their own communities—actions they can take right now to help manifest the change they wish to see in the world,” says Talia Shapiro, in charge of community outreach and communications at NAB. “We will provide Heart in Action buttons to help spread the word at the show.”

Tomorrow, Linda Tucker, known as “the Jane Goodall of white lions,” will be at the booth, 3–4 p.m., to sign copies of her new memoir, Saving the White Lions. And at 4 p.m., there will be a White Wine, White Lions reception with Tucker, a former runway model who gave up her glamorous career to help bring Africa’s most sacred animal back from extinction. In addition, all day Friday the Two Truths and a Lie contest will be held again, as a trivia quiz about white lions, to give booksellers a chance to win a Lionhearted gift pack valued at $100.
