S&S Nabs Bestselling Self-Published Series Wool

Simon & Schuster has acquired North American rights to Hugh Howey's self-published science fiction series, Wool. Karyn Marcus took North American rights in the deal from Kristin Nelson, at Nelson Literary. Howey gained notoriety for building an audience on his own for the e-books, and initially turned down traditional deals. The series has also been optioned been optioned by 20th Century Fox. Wool was first released in July 2011.
