If there were any doubt about the role of book bloggers in bookstores, blogger Dawn Rennert (She Is Too Fond of Books) gave it a new twist when she and her husband, Jon Rennert, became majority owners in the 72-year-old Concord Bookshop in Concord, Mass., late last week. Because of her blog, Concord Bookshop hired Rennert two years ago to handle communications and coordinate author events. Now she and Jon will serve as directors of the store’s reorganized board.

Dawn has no immediate plans to make any staffing or other changes to the store and singled out long-time manager and buyer John Netzer as “a huge asset” to the bookstore. “We live in town and the bookstore really is essential to our community. It’s a landmark in Concord and we want to make sure it stays that way,” she told PW. “We’re learning; we’re analyzing.”
