The Great Lakes Independent Booksellers Association, which sponsors the Great Lakes, Great Reads seasonal awards program spotlighting frontlist titles written by an author who lives in or has ties to the region, is adding to it. Beginning this summer, GLIBA booksellers may select their single favorite release from the fiction, nonfiction, YA, and picture book picks that have been named as Great Lakes, Great Reads in March, July, and October. The winning author and book will receive the annual Great Lakes, Great Reads award at the Heartland Fall Forum in October. This year’s Heartland Fall Forum, held in conjuction with the Midwest Independent Booksellers Association, will be held Oct. 3-6 at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare.

GLIBA will send a ballot for this year's cumulative award to its 125 member bookstores in June, after the July Great Lakes, Great Reads titles are selected.
