Paul Hanson has been promoted from community outreach director to general manager of Village Books/Paper Dreams in Bellingham, Wash. He joined the bookstore and gift store in June, 2011, after a 16-year career at Eagle Harbor Books on Bainbridge Island, Wash., 13 as the store manager. During those years he was active in the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association, where he served as a member of the board of directors and as president, and in the American Booksellers Association, where he was a member of the Booksellers Advisory Council.

In announcing the appointment, co-owner Chuck Robinson said, “We got to know Paul years before he came to work with us at Village Books. We’re thrilled to have him step into this role and help lead this organization.” Robinson and his wife, store co-owner Dee Robinson, will continue as co-CEOs.
