3/7 Phil Jiminez Fairest Premiere Signing in New York

Comics creator Phil Jiminez will appear at the downtown location of Midtown Comics in Manhattan on March 7 to discuss and sign Fairest #1, a Fables series which he co-created with Fables creator Bill Willingham. The event takes place from 6 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7 and is free to the public. The downtown Midtown Comics is located at 64 Fulton Street, New York, NY.

3/10 Ric Carrasquillo Small Press Spotlight in San Francisco

Indie comics creator and animator Ric Carrasquillo, creator of the animated web comic [SIC], will appear at the opening of a new art exhibit showcasing his art in San Francisco at The Cartoon Art Museum. A special edition art print will be available for sale and all three creators will be signing at the event. The opening begins at 7 p.m. on, Saturday March 10, and the exhibit runs from March 10 – June 10 at the Cartoon Art Museum, located at 655 Mission Street, San Francisco, CA.The event is open free to the public.

3/7-3/11 Los Angeles Animation Festival in Los Angeles

On March 7 – March 11, the 2012 Los Angeles Animation Fesitival will take place at the Regent Showcase in Los Angeles. Featuring a variety of acclaimed animated features, shows and shorts shown on the big screen with commentary from animators, directors and voice actors involved in their production, tickets are available for both individual films and the festival as a whole. Featured films include The Iron Giant, Akira, Dos Rombos, web cartoon Dick Figures, Fantastic Planet, A Monster in Paris and a showcase of works from MTV's Liquid Television among others. The Regent Showcase is located at 614 La Brea Avenue, Los Angeles, CA. Festival passes are $60 for an all-festival pass (not including charity screenings) and non-passholder are available for $10 per event.
