3/31 Ming Doyle, Stacie Ponder, Renae De Liz & More Sign Womanthology in Somerville, MA

Comics creators Ming Doyle, Ellen Crenshaw, Cathy Leamy and editor Renae De Liz will appear at Hub Comics in Somerville from 12-4 p.m. on Saturday, March 31 to discuss and sign their new book Womanthology: Heroic. Womanthology, a massive graphic novel anthology by and about women, became a runaway hit on Kickstarter and one of the most anticipated books of 2012. The event is free to the public. Hub Comics is located at 19 Bow Street, Somerville, MA.

4/3 Avengers vs. X-Men Launch Parties with John Romita Jr., Ed Brubaker & more in NYC, Los Angeles & Overton, KS

To celebrate the release of Marvel's new comics event, Avengers vs. X-Men, creators from the books are holding launch parties across the country. John Romita Jr., Adam Kubert, Axel Alonso, Tom Brevoort and Nick Lowe will hold a signing at Midtown Comics Times Square in New York City, Ed Brubaker will sign copies at Meltdown Comics in Los Angeles and Jason Aaron will be signing it at Elite Comics in Overton, Kansas. On April 3, the New York event takes place at 8 p.m.-12 a.m. at 200 West 40th Street, New York, NY. The Overton and Los Angeles event times have yet to be announced, but Elite Comics is located at 11842 Quivera Road, Overton, KS and the Los Angeles launch party will take place at 7522 Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA.. More details will be available at CBLDF.org as the time approaches. All events are free to members of the public purchasing a copy of Avengers vs. X-Men #1.

4/19 Toonseum Fundraiser Party with Doug Sneyd in Pittsburgh, PA

Veteran cartoonist Doug Sneyd, cartoonist for Playboy since 1964, will be hosting a comics and cocktails party on April 19 at 7 p.m. at Pittsburgh's Toonseum comics museum. A benefit event for the museum, festivities will include a live interview with Sneyd, works by Sneyd on exhibit and for sale, free cocktails and live lounge music. Tickets are available online for $50 to the general public and $40 to Toonseum members. The Toonseum recently suffered serious losses to its collection, estimated at $25,000, after catastrophic roof damage to its comics storage site. The Toonseum is located at 945 Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA.
