5/30 "Will Eisner: Portrait of a Sequential Artist" Screening in Pittsburgh, PA

On May 30, Will Eisner: Portrait of a Sequential Artist, a documentary about the revolutionary groundbreaking comics creator Will Eisner, will screen in a special event at Pittsburgh's Toonseum in coordination with "Will Eisner's New York", an exhibit of his works that closes at the Toonseum on May 27 but will be open for those who attend the screening. Covering the life and work of the famous creator, the documentary features members of the comics community including Michael Chabon, Jules Feiffer, Jack Kirby, Art Spiegelman, Stan Lee and Gil Kane among others. Tickets to the screening are $5 for the general public and free for members. The Toonseum comics and cartoon museum is located at 945 Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA.

6/2 Patric Reynolds Art Opening at Things from Another World in Portland, OR

Up and coming comics artist Patric Reynolds will appear at the opening of “Patric Reyolds: Black and White”, a new exhibit showcasing his art at the new Portland location of Things from Another World. Free refreshments and beer (for those legally allowed to drink, with ID) will be available to those attending the event. The opening begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, and the exhibit runs throughout the month of June. The Portland location of Things from Another World is located at 2916 Northeast Broadway, Portland, OR.The exhibit is open free to the public, and the art will be available for purchase.

6/7 Chip Kidd "Batman: Death By Design" Signing in New York, NY

Acclaimed designer, art director and now comics creator Chip Kidd will appear at the Fulton Street location of Midtown Comics in New York City at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 7 to sign his new book Batman: Death by Design. Batman: Death by Design is an original graphic novel written by Kidd, with art by Dave Taylor. The event is free to the public. The downtown Midtown Comics is located at 64 Fulton Street, New York, NY.
