6/7 Chip Kidd "Batman: Death By Design" Signing in New York, NY

Acclaimed designer, art director and now comics creator Chip Kidd will appear at the Fulton Street location of Midtown Comics in New York City at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 7 to sign his new bookBatman: Death by Design. Batman: Death by Design is an original graphic novel written by Kidd, with art by Dave Taylor. The event is free to the public. 6/13 Aline Kominsky-Crumb & Dominque Sapel at MoCCA in New York, NY

On June 13, the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art, MoCCA, in New York City will be holding a special panel discussion with comics creator Aline Kominsky-Crumb and artist Dominique Sapel about their art experiment “Miami Makeover: Almost Anything for Beauty” now on exhibit at MoCCA. On display at the museum beginning XXXX, the exhibit features art inspired by their week exploring the beauty culture of Miami from the inside, and a documentary about the project. The panel will take place at the museum from 6 – 8 p.m., and admission will be free to members and $8 to the general public. 6/13-6/17 Denver Comic Con & Literary Conference in Denver, CO

On June 15 through 17, the 2012 Denver Comic Con will take place in Denver, Colorado, and in coordination with it, the RMCCGN graphic novel literary conference is scheduled for June 13-15. Denver Comic Con will feature such comic creator guests as Gail Simone, Jason Aaron, Noah Van Sciver and Bob Layton among many others. A three day literary conference focusing on the artform of the graphic novel, the RMCCGN will feature acclaimed comics creator and theorist Scott McCloud as the keynote speaker as well as academic speakers including James "Bucky" Carter, Maureen Bakis and Robert Weiner and Dr. Charles Hatfield. The RMCCGN will take place on June 14 from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. on June 15 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. and will begin with an opening reception at 6 p.m. on June 13. Admission is $199 for professionals and $149 for students, spouses and guests, and it includes afternoon tea, cocktail hour, lunch on Thursday and Friday, a conference pass to see all sessions and speakers and a complimentary weekend pass to the 2012 Denver Comic Con. Admission to Denver Comic Con is $50 for an adult three day pass and $30 for a teen pass for attendees from 11-16. RMCCGN will take place at the Hyatt Regency Denver located at 650 15th Street, Denver, CO while the 2012 Denver Comic Con will take place at the Colorado Convention Center, located at 400 14th Street, Denver, CO. Proceeds from both events go to benefit the educational program the Comic Book Classroom.
