Graphic novel publisher Archaia Entertainment, publisher of 2012 Eisner Award winner Jim Henson’s Tale of Sand, has reached an agreement to switch its domestic and international bookstore distribution to Diamond Book Distribution. DBD will take over backlist titles immediately and new Archaia titles will begin appearing in the DBD catalog beginning in February 2013.

Archaia was previously distributed to the bookstore market by PGW and the new deal will place all of Archaia’s print distribution in one place. Archaia print graphic novels are distributed to the comic shops market by Diamond Comic Distributors, the parent company of DBD. Among the popular graphic titles published by Achaia are Return of the Dapper Men by Jim McCann and Janet Lee, Rust by Royden Lee, and Mouse Guard by David Petersen.

Archaia president and CEO P.J. Bickett said, "Archaia's titles have always appealed to a wide range of audiences, including both traditional comic readers and non-comic readers, and we are excited to bring our library to as wide an audience as possible.”
