10/11-10/14 New York Comic Con in New York, NY

On October 11 through 14, the 2012 New York Comic Con will take place in New York City and feature such comic creator guests as Bryan Lee O'Malley, Kieron Gillen, Colleen Doran, Robert Kirkman, and Fiona Staples among many others as well as literary guests such as Anne Rice and Kim Harrison. The 2012 New York Comic Con will be held at the Javits Convention Center at 655 West 34th street, New York, NY. Hours are 4-7 p.m. Thursday, 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $45 for Friday or Sunday, $85 for all three general admission days and $100 for four days including the exclusive preview night. Tickets are $10 less when purchased in advance online, Saturday, Sunday and weekend pass tickets are already sold out online but may be purchased in person from affiliated comics shops.

10/13 Charlie Adlard's Walking Dead Party and Gallery Show in Portland, OR

Comics artist Charlie Adlard will appear at a new art exhibit showcasing his art from his work with Robert Kirkman on The Walking Dead in Portland, Oregon at Things From Another World. The event will also be a party celebrating the premiere of a new series of the AMC series The Walking Dead, based on Kirkman and Adlard's comic. The party begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 13, and admission is $5, which then may be put toward any comics purchase at Things From Another World. Free food and alcoholic refreshments will be provided. Things from Another World's Portland store is located at 2916 NE Broadway, Portland, OR.

10/17 Ex Sanguine Release Event with Tim Seeley and Josh Emmons in Chicago, IL

Comics creators Josh Emmons and Tim Seeley will be celebrating the release of the first issue of their new Dark Horse comic Ex Sanguine with a signing at Challengers Comics and Conversation from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, 10/17. Released just in time for the Halloween season, the new ongoing comic is about a bored and jaded vampire who finds himself fascinated by a human serial killer. The event is free to the public, but you must be 17 or over to attend. Challengers Comics is located at 1845 North Western Avenue, Chicago, Illinois.
