2/13 Kelly Sue DeConnick & Pete Woods "Avengers Assemble" Signing in Portland, OR

Hit comics creator Kelly Sue DeConnick and artist Pete Woods will appear at Things from Another World in Portland from 7-10 p.m. on February 13 to sign their new comic Avengers Assemble #12. Complementary food will be provided along with alcoholic beverages to those over 21. This event is free to the public. The Portland branch of Things from Another World is located at 2916 NE Broadway, Portland, OR.

2/21 Nicole Georges, Sally Madden and Monica Gallagher in Baltimore, MD

Atomic Books in Baltimore will be holding a group signing and discussion evening with indie comics creators Sally Madden, Monical Gallagher and Nicole Georges as well as essayist Cassie Sneider on February 21. Each creator will be showcasing her latest book: Nicole Georges's graphic memoir Dear Dr. Laura, Sally Madden's Gray is Not a Color – a collection of stories in comic form about Philadelphia's Mutter Museum and Monica Gallagher's Glitter Kiss about a literally magical search for true love. The event will take place at 7 p.m. at Atomic Books at 3620 Fells Road, Hampden, Baltimore, MD. The events is free to the public and complementary adult beverages will be provided to those over 21.

2/23, 2/24 Scott McCloud's 2-Day Making Comics Class in Los Angeles, CA

Comics impersario Scott McCloud, comics creator and writer of the classic Understanding Comics, will be offering a two-day master class in creating comics at the Los Angeles Academy of Figural Art. This will be the third year he has offered the class – a previous session was featured in Fast Company. The class will take place over 14 hours on February 23 and 24, from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and is open to teen and adult students. No drawing experience required. Tuition is $595 ahead of time and students can register here.
