4/9 Jane Esperson & Brad Bell "Husbands" Signing in New York, NY

On April 9, screenwriter Jane Esperson and comic actor Brad Bell will be signing their new Dark Horse graphic novel Husbands, which they wrote based on their popular comedy series of the same name. Husbands the graphic novel – and the hit webseries – is a comedy about a young gay celebrity couple who drunkenly get married and find themselves accidental gay rights posterboys. Previously published as a digital-only comics series, Dark Horse brought the book to print due to popular demand. Esperson and Bell will appear at Midtown Comics Downtown in New York at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9 to sign their new book. The event is free to the public with purchase of the Husbands graphic novel. 4/10 "Man of Steel vs. Orson Scott Card" with David Gerrold, Danny Fingeroth & More in New York, NY

Danny Fingeroth and the Soho Gallery of Digital Art will be holding a special panel discussion about the controversial decision by DC Comics to hire science fiction author Orson Scott Card, an outspoken opponent of gay rights, to write a Superman story. The panel will feature groundbreaking gay science fiction writer David Gerrold; veteran DC editor Paul Kupperberg – writer of Archie's Kevin comic about a gay protagonist; writer and editor Joseph Peter Illidge of Milestone, DC, and Verge comics; comics reporter and columnist Jeff Trexler of The Beat; comics illustrator Adam DeKraker and the panel's presenter, DC Comics legend and comics historian Danny Fingeroth. All members of the panel are in favor of gay rights – the debate will be over whether a famous writer known for equating homosexuality to pedophilia should be given another platform to express his views, or whether denying him the job because of his political opinions is inappropriate blacklisting. this will take place on Wednesday, April 10 from 7-9 p.m. Admission is $10 in advance through www.brownpapertickets.com and $15 at the door. 4/14 Lucy Knisley "Relish" Signing in San Francisco, CA

Acclaimed indepedent comics creator Lucy Knisley will appear at San Francisco's Cartoon Art Museum from 12 - 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 14 to sign and discuss her latest book Relish, out from First Second Books.
