As part of Comica, the London International Comics Festival, graphic novelist Rutu Modan will be discussing her newest work, The Property, with Hannah Berry at 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Foyles Gallery in Foyles Bookshop in London. Modan, who earned international acclaim with Exit Wounds, will explain her creative process on The Property, her first full-length graphic novel. The book follows Regina Segal, an elderly woman who returns to Poland after living abroad to reclaim a piece of property lost during World War II. Once there, she is confronted with old family secrets in a country far different from what she remembers. Tickets are £6 and available here. Fan favorite cartoonist Brandon Graham will be signing copies of his new art book, Walrus (PictureBox), from 6-9 p.m. at the Fantagraphics Bookstore in Seattle. With innovative and cerebral works like King City, Prophet and Multiple Warheads, Graham has established himself as one of the most unique cartoonists working today.
