Rocco DiSpirito’s Pound a Day Diet debuts at #3 on PW’s Nonfiction Bestseller list. DiSpirito, first known for his cookbooks Flavor and Rocco’s Italian American, has made a healthy change in the last few years with Now Eat This!: 150 of America's Favorite Comfort Foods, All Under 350 Calories. With a switch from Ballantine to Grand Central Publishing, he has built on the series with Now Eat This! Diet: Lose Up to 10 Pounds in Just 2 Weeks Eating 6 Meals a Day! Now Eat This! The Pound a Day Diet sold 12,000 copies in its first week, according to Nielsen BookScan, which tracks about 80% of print books sold.
Three weeks into the New Year, it’s not all surprising to find an additional five health-related books, many with recipes, on the top-10 Nonfiction list:
Ian K. Smith’s Super Shred at #1; Rich Warren’s The Daniel Plan at #4; The Body Book, by Cameron Diaz, #6; Travis Stork’s The Doctor’s Diet at #8; and David Perlmutter’s Grain Brain, which, now at #9 has been on the charts for 17 weeks. The only non-health-related title is Ree Drummond's cookbook The Pioneer Woman Cooks: A Year of Holidays, at #13.
