Cool Springs Press founder and president Roger Waynick died yesterday following complications from a massive stroke. A statement from Cool Springs said, “We are unbelievably shocked. Roger was larger than life and always sought new adventures, both in life and in the publishing world he loved. Details of Roger's memorial service will be shared as they are learned.”
Earlier this month, U.K.-based Quarto Group acquired Cool Springs, which is headquartered in Brentwood, Tenn., and publishes gardening books. Waynick was to report to Ken Fund, Quayside’s president and CEO.
