Longtime agent Wendy E. Weil died September 22 at her country home in West Cornwall, Ct. She was 72. President of The Wendy Weil Agency, Inc., her career as a literary agent spanned over 40 years. She often said she found her whole life in book publishing – her husband, her friends, and her calling as an agent. She was the recipient of a Matrix Award from New York Women in Communications, Inc.; a past president of the Women's Media Group, and former literary v-p of the Association of Authors' Representatives. Plans for a memorial service will be announced in the early fall. Emily Forland and Emma Patterson and long-time office manager Ann Torrago remain at the agency.
