HarperCollins has found a new head for its Amistad imprint, naming Tracy Sherrod editorial director. Dawn Davis, who had been publisher, left Amistad earlier this year to head a new imprint at Atria. Sherrod held a variety of editorial roles at different publishers before establishing Tracy Sherrod Literary Services in 2002. Among the authors she has represented are Kalisha Buckhanon, Karrine Steffans, Shaunie O’Neal, and the works of playwright Katori Hall. Sherrod starts at Amistad April 22 and will report to Jonathan Burnham, senior v-p and publisher of the Harper Group.
