Anthony Ziccardi, former deputy publisher at Simon & Schuster’s Gallery imprint, has been named publisher of Humanix Books, a division of the online media company Newsmax Media. Ziccardi will be based in Newsmax’s New York office and is charged with expanding Humanix’s book business by broadening the types of books it publishes and adding new authors, according to Christopher Ruddy, the president and CEO of Newsmax Media.

Humanix publishes about eight to 10 books annually in the areas of health, personal finance, biography, current affairs, and politics. It recently had a bestseller with ObamaCare Survival Guide: The Affordable Care Act and What It Means to You and Your Healthcare. In addition to serving as deputy publisher of Gallery, Ziccardi was editorial director of S&S’s Threshold imprint where he worked with such prominent conservative authors as Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, and Laura Ingraham.
