ABC News Now interviews former 1970s teen heart-throb (Ice Castles; Ode to Billy Joe) turned sitcom director Robby Benson, whose debut is Who Stole the Funny? A Novel of Hollywood (HarperPaperbacks, $13.95). Benson directed a number of episodes of Friends and his roman a clef novel parodies the behind-the-scene antics of a hit TV show called I Love My Urban Buddies.

Today on Good Morning America, Richard Wiseman explained Quirkology: How We Discover the Big Truths in Small Things (Basic Books, $26).

Rachael Ray chatted with Conn Iggulden, author of The Dangerous Book for Boys (Collins, $24.95; HarperAudio abridged CD, $24.95).

Diane Rehm hosted John Heath and Lisa Adams, authors of Why We Read What We Read: A Delightfully Opinionated Journey Through Bestselling Books (SourceBooks, $16.95).

Authors on today’s Leonard Lopate Show:

Edward P. Jones, who edited New Stories from the South: 2007—The Year's Best (Algonquin, $14.95). PW pointed out “Jones has brought a sharp eye to a venerable tradition.” Jones’s All Aunt Hagar's Children (Amistad, $14.95) is just out in paperback.

Short story writer George Saunders with his first nonfiction collection, The Braindead Megaphone (Riverhead, $14). PW wrote “Despite a few rough spots, these essays contain much to delight.”

On Fresh Air with Terry Gross: Watergate insider Bud Krogh, author of Integrity: Good People, Bad Choices, and Life Lessons from the White House (PublicAffairs, $25). PW said “30 years later he's had plenty of time to dissect the ethics and effects of the momentous decisions that led to the Nixon presidency's downfall. Krogh's conclusion is that the crimes have their roots in a breakdown of integrity, giving it wide applicability to the current age of government scandal and high crime.”

Tonight, Tavis Smiley meets with former NFL star Jerome Bettis, author of The Bus: My Life in and out of a Helmet (Doubleday, $23.95). From PW’s review: “Writing in an easygoing, honest voice, Bettis gives readers a good look at the inside stories of college recruiting, professional contracts and the agony of NFL injuries.”
