Random House’s New York offices will be appearing in three episodes of Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List starting Monday night. Ballantine is publishing comedian Griffin’s Official Book Club Selection: A Memoir According to Kathy Griffin on September 8, and the three episodes will follow Griffin as she takes the first steps toward publishing her memoir. A clip of Griffin at the Random offices shows her scrutinizing the famous books displayed in its lobby, and attending a meeting with staffers, who ask who Griffin’s favorite authors are and are met with an uncomfortably long pause. The first of the three episodes airs tonight at 10:00 p.m. EST on Bravo.

Ballantine paid a reported $2 million for Griffin’s book, an “unplugged, uncensored and unafraid” look at Griffin's life on the road, away from the cameras and after the show. It will publish the book as a $25 hardcover.

This is not the first time a book publisher has appeared on Bravo. On the last season of Real Housewives of New York City, Bethenny Frankel's editor at Fireside, Zach Schisgal, appeared during a photo shoot for the cover of her book, Naturally Thin. Also on this past season of RHNYC, Countess LuAnn de Lesseps, author of Class with the Countess, went to the office of her publisher, Dutton, and they toasted with champagne. The Countess was also at a party with her agent, David Vigliano.
