Self-publishing company of the moment Author Solutions announced a deal today with On Demand Books, which owns the Espresso Book Machine, to provide writers with online tools to publish, distribute, print and market their books in retail locations via the Espresso Book Machine.

The partnership marks the first time user-generated content will be able to be produced on the Espresso from Web-enabled software provided by Author Solutions—which includes AuthorHouse, iUniverse, Xlibris, Trafford Publishing and Wordclay. Dane Neller, CEO of On Demand Books, said having the two companies work together “will transform self-publishing opportunities for both retailers and writers.”

As part of the agreement, Author Solutions has created and will operate Web-based self-publishing services that will be available to Espresso retailers, who can then offer the services under their own branded Web sites. Writers can use the online services from remote locations or on in-store computer monitors, and have books printed while they wait.
