Defendini Joining Open Road
Pablo Defendini, producer at Tor.com—an experimental Macmillan Web site/publishing venture focused on launching original science fiction, fantasy prose and Web comics—is leaving the company to take a job at Open Road Integrated Media, former Harper-Collins CEO Jane Friedman's new multiplatform venture. The move is effective April 23.
Shivers Joins Abrams
Lottchen Shivers has joined Abrams in the newly created position of executive director of adult marketing and publicity, reporting to Mary Wowk, v-p of sales and marketing. In addition to overseeing the adult marketing and publicity departments, Shivers will be responsible for helping with Abrams's corporate profile and branding efforts. After serving in publicity and marketing positions for several publishers, most recently at Holt, Shivers has run Lottchen Shivers Communications for the past seven years.
