Kansas City media company Andrews McMeel announced Monday two changes in their book publishing division. Christine Schillig, book division v-p, will assume the role of executive editor, so that she can devote more time to editing and managing her list of authors. Schillig will also continue to supervise AMP’s editorial team. Many of Schillig’s previous administrative and management responsibilities will be incorporated into a new transmedia position created at the company--v-p, executive producer. Besides the administrative and management duties, the executive producer will work with the editorial team in developing AMP’s line of digital books. The company currently releases select titles simultaneously in print and digital formats and hopes to expand their multimedia offerings.

The v-p, executive producer, will report to Kirsty Melville, book division president. AMP has retained a search company, Ligature Partners, to lead a national search for the new position.
