Agate Publishing has moved its forthcoming collection of quotes by Steve Jobs, I, Steve: Steve Jobs in His Own Words from spring 2012 to mid-November 2011. The book will be published under Agate's B2 Books business imprint.

With Jobs’s announcement last month that he is stepping down as CEO of Apple, Agate publisher Doug Seibold decided to push up the book’s publication date. The manuscript is being updated to reflect Jobs’ announcement and his comments upon resigning. Seibold explained, “We don’t want anyone to wonder if this book was thrown together at the last moment in response to recent news about Jobs’ retirement. This is a thoughtful, well-chosen collection and it has been in the works for months now. Since the book is done, it just made sense to release it now.”

The book’s editor/compiler, George Beahm, helped popularize the literary companion with the publication of The Stephen King Companion in 1989. Since then, he has published companion books on several other writers and public figures.

The book will be published as a $10.95 trade paperback; Agate’s books are distributed to the trade by Publishers Group West.
