Consortium Book Sales and Distribution is adding eight publishers to their list of more than 100 client publishers this fall. A Consortium representative notes that several of the new clients are newly-formed companies, and others are entering the U.S. market for the first time. They include:

Central Recovery Press, headquartered in Las Vegas, which specializes in addiction treatment and recovery publications for both individuals and health professionals.

February Books, newly launched by Dee Dee DeBartlo, previously senior director of publicity at William Morrow, Gretchen Crary, previously a publicity director at HarperCollins, and Kimberly Cowser, previously a senior publicist at Simon & Schuster. February’s debut releases are Obama Karma: Lessons on Living Inspired by the 44th President and Getting to Bartlett Street: Our 25 Year Quest to Level the Playing Field in Education.

Global Book Sales, a British sales and distribution company that has just launched, partnering with Consortium to distribute initially Fonthill Media and Clarksdale Books titles to the U.S. market.

Independent Thinking Press, a new imprint of Crown House Publishing, a 20-year-old company headquartered in rural Wales that specializes in publications for the educational market.

Torrey House Press, a Utah publisher launched in 2010 that specializes in fiction and nonfiction titles about the “new” American West. Torrey House released three titles in 2011, and will release two novels and two short story collections this fall.

Tyrant Books, a small press founded in 2009 by the publisher of the New York Tyrant tri-quarterly literary magazine that is committed to publishing incendiary or avant garde fiction by emerging writers.

Uncivilized Books, a newly-launched Minneapolis publisher of graphic novels and comic books. There are currently 17 Uncivilized titles in print, with two new titles to be released this fall.

Zuccotti Park Press, a small press inspired by the Occupy movement, whose mission is to publish pamphlet-size works by emerging voices and well-known thinkers that “envision a new society based on democracy, justice, and equality.” The press’ debut release is Occupy by political philosopher Norm Chomsky, followed by Message to the Movement by incarcerated journalist Mumia Abu Jamal.

Publications by these eight publishers will be available from Consortium beginning June 1, except for releases by Central Recovery, which will be available as of July 1.
