Writers House is the latest literary agency to sign on to Perseus Books Group’s Argo Navis Author Service program. Among the authors with titles being readied for digital distribution are Sweet Valley High author Francine Pascal and popular mystery writer Charlie Newton. The three Pascal titles include two previously published adult titles and one unpublished work, Little Crew of Butchers. The Newton title is Calumet City, which was nominated for several mystery awards when it was first published in 2008.

“After reviewing many of the digital publishing options available, we concluded that the service provided by Argo Navis was the best fit for the majority of our authors,” said Amy Berkower, chairman and CEO of Writers House. Under the Argo Navis arrangement the author is the publisher of his or her titles and the agent is the liaison to Argo Navis.

Perseus president David Steinberger noted that the company “is seeing real momentum in the [Argo Navis] program with a surge in agent and author interest.”
