The Chicken Soup brand is expanding to include food. The publisher, which specializes in inspirational books, is launching a line of comfort foods, starting with soup, that will be sold in supermarkets and food retailers throughout the country. The food line will launch in early 2013 and, like the Chicken Soup books, which feature hopeful stories submitted by readers, the foods will also be, as the brand explained, "inspired by real people."
The food line, which will expand in 2014, is planned to feature over 100 products, beginning with seven soups, the first to market, naturally, chicken soup. For the food line, called Chicken Soup for the Soul Foods, the company is partnering withDaymon Worldwide, a retailing brand.
