Indie publisher Soho Press has redesigned its Web site. The new hub was created, the publisher said, "with an eye toward direct-to-consumer digital sales," and is offering titles at a discount. Soho is also offering new subscription options, one attached to its Soho Teen imprint, and another to Soho Crime.

The new site, which features amusing things like an interactive map showing the settings of all of Soho Crime's titles, also allows consumer to buy direct at prices 30% off of retail. Through the subscription options, readers can get an 12 books per year at either $14.99 for print, $9.99 for digital. (The titles arrive monthly, at 50% off list price, and subscribers can choose from a selection of each imprint's offerings.)

Despite the move in direct sales, Soho publisher Bronwen Hruska said the press is still a firm supporter of bricks-and-mortar stores. "We will continue to maintain a strong presence in traditional retail markets and libraries, supporting our books there any way we can," she said. "We will always continue to print galleys for trade shows, mail books to booksellers and librarians, and regularly tour our authors."

The redesign of the site was overseen by Kevin Murphy, who joined Soho in June as digital media manager.
