Simon & Schuster has designed a new site specifically geared toward the academic and library community. Simonandschuster.net features information for teachers and librarians for grades K-12, public librarians, and professors and librarians in higher education. Author videos, photos and exclusive author-generated content will appear on the site, as well as lists of books that have won the American Library Association Award, National Book Award and Pulitzer Prize.

Simonandschuster.net also includes a selection of instructional materials, including curriculum and reading group guides, activity sheets, and themed book collections for historical events and holidays. It compiles a calendar of conferences (with information on S&S’s activities at each show), and gives Lexile measures so readers, teachers and librarians can select books according to reading ability. The site offers monthly giveaways, and visitors can sign up for various targeted newsletters.

Michelle Fadlalla, director of marketing, education and library for Simon & Schuster, said the new site “reaffirms our commitment to this group." Simonandschuster.com launched in January 2009.
