Macmillan's Flatiron Books will publish Oprah Winfrey's memoir, The Life You Want, in January 2017. It will be the first title at a new, not yet named, nonfiction imprint dedicated to books selected by the media magnate.

The Life You Want is, according to Flatiron president and publisher Bob Miller, "a remarkable combination of Oprah's life story and the lessons we can all draw from it for our personal growth." In a release about the book, Winfrey added: “All of my experiences, even the painful ones, have been there to teach me something about life. I’m still learning and I hope my story inspires other people to live the highest, fullest expression of themselves."

The exact number of titles the imprint will publish has not been set; Flatiron said it will release "several" books annually. Speaking to the imprint, Miller said he and his colleagues are excited to leverage Winfrey's "extraordinary instincts" for choosing books, as demonstrated by the wildly popular book club she launched on her former day-time talk show.

Jennifer Rudolph Walsh at William Morris Endeavor represented Winfrey in the deal, and the book will be released simultaneously in the U.K., Australia and South Africa by Pan Macmillan.
