For the first time in 17 years, Macmillan division St Martin's Press is launching a new imprint. Wednesday Books, which will be overseen by SMP publisher Jennifer Enderlin, will publish YA and adult titles focused on coming-of-age themes.

SMP said the line will focus on "bold, diverse, and commercial voices in fiction and nonfiction who speak to readers looking for stories in and beyond the YA category."

Set to release its first titles in fall 2017, Wednesday Books is expected to do 10–20 titles a year. The imprint will also be the new home, moving forward, for all YA titles at SMP.

Sara Goodman, who has been at SMP since 2007 and edits authors like Rainbow Rowell and Courtney Summers, will be the editorial director of Wednesday Books. She will edit and acquire both adult and YA titles for the line while, Enderlin noted, "also working with the other editors here to build the Wednesday list."

Speaking to the kinds of books readers can expect from the imprint, Goodman, acknowledging that "coming-of-age is a broad category," said she is aiming to find work that is "dynamic and exciting."
