The Evangelical Christian Publishers Association has elected founder and CEO of Worthy Publishing Byron Williamson as its new chair. Williamson replaces Dwight Baker, group president of Baker Publishing, whose term expired after two years.

“I have been involved with the remarkable work of ECPA for a number of years and am honored to be asked to serve as its chair,” Williamson said in a statement. “ECPA’s awards programs, such as the Kenneth N. Taylor Lifetime Achievement Award and the annual Christian Book of the Year Awards, are vital to our industry.”

Stan Jantz remains executive director of the association, while senior v-p of HarperCollins Christian Publishing David Moberg serves as vice-chair. Other board officers include secretary Cory Verner from eChristian, treasurer Tammy Gaines of Abingdon Press, and member at large Jeff Wright of Urban Ministries. Remaining members of the board include Dan Baker of Baker Publishing, Jeff Crosby of InterVarsity Press, Paul Hendrickson of Hendrickson Publishers, Dan Kok of Crossway, and Jennifer Lyell from B&H Publishing.

Members of the ECPA include Christian and inspirational publishers such as Tyndale House, HarperCollins Christian Publishing, Baker Books, and more.
