SAGE is currently seeking Sr. Channel Sales Managers candidates to be based in a major metropolitan area. The position is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring a strategic books business plan for SAGE Publications (SAGE College, SAGE Reference, Corwin, and Imports) in the U.S. retail, wholesale, and academic market segments, with primary concentration on key accounts Amazon, Baker & Taylor, Ingram, Barnes & Noble and NACSCORP. In addition to managing key accounts, the Senior CSM will facilitate participation in print-on-demand (POD) programs with Baker & Taylor, Createspace and Lightning Source in collaboration with select SAGE departments and stakeholders in sales, manufacturing, inventory, finance, editorial, and senior management. Additional responsibilities include liaising with SAGE International sales teams to manage and support international distributors and sales agents in select geographies.

Qualifications include any combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following:

Required

•Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required.
•Experience in Higher Ed or STM publishing required.
•3-7+ years key account sales experience required. Experience managing Amazon required.
•Must possess understanding of CoreSource, Vendor Central, Publisher Alley, GOBI, iPage, Bookscan, EDI, Pubnet, and ONIX. Working knowledge and/or experience with any or all.
•Persuasive negotiation skills.
•Strong work ethic (workload may exceed regular working hours during peak sales cycles; must be willing to work weekends as needed).
•Proficiency in PC environment, possessing intermediate-level working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
•Excellent communication skills including grammar, written, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.
•Excellent time management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
•Ethical and honest in all business relations.

Preferred:

Experience managing B&T, Ingram, and/or B&N preferred
•Familiar with CRM systems
•Working knowing of SFA and/or salesforce.com
