Our production department has a terrific opportunity for someone to handle the production of Penguin reprints and assist with SAP computer system duties.

The person in this role:

1. Handles estimating and purchasing for all facets of book manufacturing for own titles (composition, component and text printing, binding).
2. Acts as liaison between outside vendors (compositors, printers, binders) and departments within Penguin.
3. Maintains and updates data within the SAP computer system.
4. Attends and participates in biweekly reprint meetings.
5. Maintains Excel status report and keeps titles on schedule.
6. Picks up department packages, wraps packages, and prepares UPS and messenger pick-ups.
7. Handles reprint corrections.
8. Checks and signs-off on invoices.

• One year of book production experience required for coordinator level; Two years required for consideration at supervisor level
• Prior experience with estimating, including tech knowledge of text and cover production
• Prior experience handling own list of titles
• Able to multi-task and prioritize work
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent follow-up and communication skills
• Microsoft Excel and Word proficiency required; SAP proficiency a plus
• Able to lift and carry manuscripts and boxes weighing up to 20 lbs.
