Demonstrated past success in ownership of marketing campaigns from design to execution to reporting A MUST Fundamental understanding of usability and experience in creating conversion oriented marketing campaigns Strong analytic and organization skills, especially in assessing website performance, identifying consumer behavior, and calculating ROI Online retailing and / or shopping site experience STRONGLY PREFERRED SUMMARY The Digital Publishing Marketing Manager responsibilities will include the developing & execution of innovative online marketing campaigns and programs, from planning through implementation, optimization and measurement of impact. This position will maintain a calendar of comprehensive marketing plans that creatively leverage available resources, including Search Engine Marketing (SEM), VIZ Media’s large network inventory, paid media, offline promotions, viral, trade marketing and other vehicles. Offline promotions may include but are not limited to: events, tradeshows, and guerilla marketing techniques such as street teams, social media campaigns, and targeted promotions to key demographics. This position is accountable for the creation and delivery of both standard and ad-hoc reports for all online marketing activities. This role is essential in building the audience for several digital products and in analyzing all requisite data to monitor the health of the digital publishing business, to identify business trends, and to aid in making strategic decisions. PRINCIPAL DUTIES Develops and executes innovative online and offline marketing campaigns and programs, from planning through implementation, optimization and measurement of impact Monitors and provides reporting and analysis of traffic statistics for VIZ Media’s various web properties and other communication channels Buys and negotiates CPM, CPC, and CPA campaigns Gathers and analyzes traffic to specific websites; interpret customer behavior, identify different sources driving the traffic, determine purchase path / conversion target numbers, etc. Assists designated teams in establishing testing procedures and benchmarks for A/B testing, site upgrades, feature development, and redesigns Maintains calendar of comprehensive marketing plans that creatively leverage available resources, including Search Engine Marketing (SEM), VIZ Media’s large network inventory, paid media, offline promotions, viral, trade marketing and other vehicles. Constantly monitors competitive trends, developing marketing strategies that build on product strengths and target growth opportunities Delivers key Marketing metrics on weekly & ad hoc basis as defined by the business In addition to these responsibilities, performs other activities as assigned MINIMUM ABILITY, SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS Demonstrated past success in ownership of marketing campaigns from design to execution to reporting A MUST Fundamental understanding of usability and experience in creating conversion oriented marketing campaigns. Online retailing and / or shopping site experience STRONGLY PREFERRED Proficiency with computer usage, including email, Internet, and standard software Ability to speak, read, and write effectively in English Ability to pay strong attention to detail Ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects simultaneously Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines Ability to communicate and interact professionally with culturally diverse clients, providers, and staff Ability to work effectively in a small organization with an emphasis on teamwork Ability to work legally in the United States Ability to live in/commute to the San Francisco Bay Area MINIMUM PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND EDUCATION 5-7 years of experience in online marketing (emails, CPC/CPM, SEO, etc.) Equivalent of Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent, with a record that demonstrates suitable preparation for this position. WORKING ENVIRONMENT/MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Approximately 90% of time spent on the job involves use of a video display terminal; therefore, must be able to sit for extended periods and to utilize standard ergonomics practices. Primarily works in an office environment, requiring the following activity: lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 15 pounds, kneeling, bending. Must be able to use standard office equipment such as copiers and faxes. Must be able to travel occasionally as needed.
