Description | Baker Publishing Group, based near Grand Rapids, Michigan, is currently accepting applications for a full-time acquisitions editor for Baker Academic & Brazos Press. The primary responsibility of the position is to acquire new publishing projects that will serve academic and thoughtful readers while contributing to the long-term fiscal success of the company. The successful candidate will hold a graduate degree in theology or a related discipline, have at least five years of experience in the book industry (acquisitions experience preferred), and possess a nuanced understanding of the world of theological higher education. In addition, the candidate should be a self-starter with proven ability to network effectively, to identify successful publishing projects, and to bring ideas to fruition. The position is based on site at Baker Publishing Group’s main office in Ada, MI, a suburb of Grand Rapids. Travel is required. Rank and salary based on qualifications and experience. |
