Description | VIZ Media is looking for a Legal Counsel to join our Legal team! • Minimum of 3 years of relevant legal experience at a top-tier law firm or in-house • Qualified candidates MUST have JD degree, California State Bar license (preferred) in good standing • Strong contract drafting and negotiating skills a MUST • Excellent written communication and people skills a MUST • Knowledge of legal matters relating to merchandising, licensing, promotions, trademark, copyright and interactive media STRONGLY PREFERRED • Experience in licensing and transactional law PREFERRED SUMMARY The Legal Counsel provides legal support and advice for in-house clients. PRINCIPAL DUTIES 1. Reviews, drafts, and negotiates agreements, amendments, and renewals related to company’s domestic and international publishing, merchandising, licensing (content and software), home entertainment, digital distribution and interactive media businesses 2. Reviews contest, advertising, promotional and marketing materials 3. Leads domestic and international trademark filings, anti-piracy, and corporate/insurance/vendor/IC matters 4.
