Amazon Publishing is hiring a Sales Leader to facilitate the growth and success of our sales strategy. This position will manage key sales relationships including accounts, commission reps, and our distributor—for both print and digital—and manage the day-to-day sales operations. This is a multi-faceted job in a start-up environment. Flexibility, sharp organizational and process-oriented skills, a self-starting work ethic, and a love of selling are absolute musts.


Core Job Responsibilities

- Manage sales relationship with distributor, including setting and managing sales goals, making list presentations, and working on promotions.
- Identify, hire, and manage commission groups and reps.
- Call on key accounts.
- Act as primary point person for in-house cross-functional team including marketing, author relations, production, and editorial.
- Identify and manage non-traditional sales opportunities
- Create reports that use comprehensive data to measure performance and drive innovation.

Basic Qualifications:

- BA/BS required
- 7 or more years of publishing sales experience
- Proven track record as a rep and manager.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to measure results and create strategy
- Experience working with MS Office, including Excel, Powerpoint, Visio

Preferred Qualifications:

- Deep knowledge of a diverse account-base.
- Ability to create new procedures and workflows.
- Location flexible
- High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
- Superior verbal and written communications skills.
- Self-starter with equal focus on creativity and execution.
