Amazon Publishing is hiring an experienced foreign rights manager to facilitate the growth of our foreign rights efforts. Responsibilities include creating materials with MS Office, managing information flow and material requests, tracking contracts, and preparing for rights shows. This is a multi-faceted job in a start-up environment. Flexibility, strong organizational and process-oriented skills, a self-starting work ethic, and a good sense of humor are absolute musts.

Core Job Responsibilities

- Create and manage work flows to share information, materials, and updates about our books to the foreign rights market.
- Work with foreign rights director to sell select territories / imprints, track contracts and payments, and manage rights database
- Assist in preparing for and potentially represent Amazon Publishing at foreign rights fairs, including London and Frankfurt.
- Manage the efficient flow of contracts to and from foreign publishers.
- Create reports that use comprehensive data to measure performance and drive innovation.

Basic Qualifications

- BA/BS required
- 5 or more years of experience in foreign rights sales at a publisher or agency or related field.
- Experience with creating new procedures and workflows.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to measure results
- Experience working with MS Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.

Preferred Qualifications

- Contacts within the author, agent or foreign rights industry a plus
- High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
- Superior verbal and written communications skills.
- Must love books
- Foreign languages a plus
